Wellwood House, a Victorian guest house in a popular Scottish highland town, has chosen a TLJ key card locking system to provide added security for its guests.

TLJ Security Systems, a leading provider of smart security technologies to the accommodation industry in the UK, offers a range of hotel door key card locks that use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.

RFID key cards are an excellent alternative to traditional keys and eradicate the need for a magnetic strip card, which can be easily damaged by friction. RFID cards contain a small chip and induction loop that the transmitter on a keycard reader can access and are known as a ‘contactless’ cards as they allows guests to gain access to their room without physically touching the lock.

The TLJ Classic electronic lock model was chosen for installation on 12 doors at Wellwood House, a beautiful Victorian manor house in Pitlochry, Perthshire, because of its stylish, traditional design and to provide a convenient and secure way for guests to access rooms.
Luke Martin, director at TLJ, says: “TLJ Classic blends seamlessly with this magnificent guest house in Pitlochry, reflecting a traditional grandeur and opulence of Victorian times, and provides a convenient and secure way for guests to enter rooms.”

“TLJ Classic is popular among more traditional country house style establishments as it adds a hint of style whilst remaining subtle and demure. The lock is available in satin gold and satin chrome finishes.”

An amazing shared living development from The Collective

TLJ Security Systems is proud to be part of an exciting project in West London to transform a 1970s office building into pioneering accommodation for students and young professionals.

The Yorkshire-based supplier of smart security technologies to the accommodation industry will install its innovative locking system at the Old Oak development by The Collective in partnership with Mace Group.

Old Oak, which opens its doors in May 2016, will feature compact studio rooms with boutique design, en-suite bathrooms and private kitchenettes, plus 10,000 square feet of luxury shared spaces and facilities.

TLJ has supplied and installed TLJ Infinity electronic key card locks on 779 bedroom doors at Old Oak. It has also installed its innovative TLJ Connect locking system, which combines the offline Infinity door locks with online hotspot readers that are strategically located on corridors, elevators and any communal areas.

Any changes that are made centrally, such as cancelling cards or updating access times, are sent to these online hotspots. The access key cards then work as storage devices, downloading and uploading data every time the hotspot is used. As the card is used on individual locks, the information is then passed across.

Luke Martin, managing director at TLJ, said: “We’re extremely proud to be tasked with securing rooms at such a ground-breaking development as the Old Oak. TLJ Connect is a smart and secure system that combines offline locks with online hotspot readers, providing instant control benefits while ensuring affordability.”
